Over four generations of farming experience has taught us never to trade freshness for convenience, or taste for consistency. Buying directly from the farmer, allows us to harvest as we need, meaning you can have farm fresh produce within 10 minutes of harvesting... and you can’t beat that for freshness!

 

The history of our shop dates back to 1988. Belinda and her husband Sam (a third generation horticultural farmer from Bacchus Marsh), decided to open a farm-direct retail outlet, selling produce direct from the farm.

Sam went to work on converting an old tin shed into a retail shop, and ever since then, Sam and Belinda have worked together to develop The Fruits of Life, now a   multi award-winning gourmet produce retailer.

 

We have a massive network of Australian artisan suppliers, including gourmet fruit, vegetables, herbs, nuts, conserves, jams, cereals, breads, legumes, chutneys, biscuits and sauces and so much more.

We take pride in bringing you the best products possible and believe that exceptional service and quality produce has been the reason for our success over the last twenty years. Service with a banana smile, always!

Each box contains a mix of essential fruit and veg that changes each week to include weekly specials and seasonal produce. With over 10 boxes to choose from, we start with the basics but you can always add a little extra or choose your own fruit and veg to suit you own shopping list!

 

The Pantry has a selection of gourmet and everyday products that are available in the shop. Bakery goods, honey, freshly ground peanut butter, jams, spices, chutney, dairy, eggs, nuts, organic, vegan, allergen friendly, sweets & treats to suit your family and so much more!

The Fruits of Life opened up it's Juice Bar in 2004 and it is the perfect place to unwind amongst the historic elms of the Avenue. Ice cold smoothies, fruity and healing juices, berry and fruit salads, pies & pastries, yoghurt, salad rolls, sweets & treats and more! 

 

We use only the best ingredients, from seasonal fruit and veg available from our farm and in the shop, 99.9% fat free Colombo to organic full cream, skinny, soy and almond milk 

 

Pick up an organic coffee while having a browse throughout the shop or come in and enjoy a quiet brunch, quick lunch or delightful afternoon snack.

Our Farm is located in Bacchus Marsh, on the fertile banks of the Lerderderg River. Come and pay us a visit... just make sure you bring your gumboots!

 

We've got over 80 years of horticultural growing experience, and we think the results speak for themselves. Attentive growing and hand-harvesting mean we are able to grow fruit and vegetables that are high quality, crispy and fresh with individual character and multi-dimensional flavour. Absolutely delicious!

 

We harvest direct from Our Farm every day. Depending on the season, we grow a large range of vegetables, including our famous Grandpa's Tomatoes, available from December to April. There are rows and rows of hydroponic strawberries - available for pick you own over summer, as well as fig, pommegranite and apple trees.

 

By growing the produce ourselves, we think we can give a little extra. From planting through to harvest, we invest our own hard work and expertise into tending and cultivating our crops.
